At the NIC group, we use The Soft Washing Method of roof cleaning.
Soft Washing is a cleaning method tested and recommended by the American Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA). It utilizes low pressure to deliver a customized cleaning solution, specially blended to meet the demands of each project. This process is safe, gentle, and EFFECTIVE. The cleaning solution attacks the algae, dirt, mildew, and other contaminants from the surface of your roof. Soft washing doesn’t require high pressure, which reduces the risk of problems such as, broken tiles/shingles, water pressure ripping the protective granules right off the roof, water intrusion, and especially water waste. A pressure washer can do more damage, much faster, than the algae it is removing! Most importantly, pressure cleaning alone cannot properly remove all the contaminants from the roof surfaces. These algae have a filament root system and it needs to be killed, otherwise, it will grow right back again. That’s why roofs need to be cleaned so often.
Soft washing solutions kill and loosen these from the surfaces to be washed away, removing them completely from the surface being cleaned. As a result, your home stays clean longer and saves you money from unnecessarily repeated cleanings. Soft Washing tends to last about 4-6 times longer than pressure washing
